Two interesting parts from Unit 3: Play

Second order design problem:
creating a game is a second order design problem. You define the rules of the game and the player defines the game.

Core game mechanic:
What do you do most of the time in the game it it fun?

Game as the play of simulation:
The difference between the simulations and their referents makes fun.
